So, what does this mean? 

If you’re still running Windows 10, your PC will keep working — but with growing risks and limitations. Here’s what to expect:

Security concerns. 

 

No more security updates or patches. That means new vulnerabilities won’t be fixed, leaving your device more exposed to cyber-attacks.

Software compatibility. 

 

Over time, newer software (including browsers, anti-virus applications and business tools) will stop supporting Windows 10, reducing what you can install, update or run on your PC. 

No fixes or improvements.

 

Microsoft has stopped releasing bug fixes, feature updates, or app improvements — meaning any existing issues or slowdowns will remain.
What are your options? 

Upgrade to Windows 11.

 
 

If your PC is compatible, upgrading will keep you protected and up to date with the latest features.

Not ready to upgrade?

 

We get it — change can be unsettling. Microsoft now offers an Extended Security Update (ESU) plan for Windows 10, giving you extra time with continued security updates (but no new features).

 

There's a few options here, both paid and free, and our Nerds can help ensure your PC and account are set up correctly to stay eligible. You will eventually need to upgrade or replace your devices though, so consider this option as a temporary fix.
